Every investment management firm mentions client commitment in their marketing/communications material. The TBCAM approach to client commitment is not like our competitors’ and that difference over time has provided us with a competitive advantage. The commitment we make to our clients has been documented in investment industry research as well as in our own findings, and is demonstrated in long-term client relationships which is the hallmark of our firm. Consistency is an important quality against which investment firms like ours are judged. No firm can promise investment consistency, although we all would like to and we strive for that goal. However one firm, The Boston Company Asset Management, can deliver a consistent client commitment and we do that through our own unique client relationship management model.

Every TBCAM client service team works closely with their client at every step of the way, from the initiation of a new relationship to investment review meetings to administering operational requests to celebrating client relationship anniversaries. Importantly, a member of the client investment team also participates in the TBCAM client service program. Portfolio Managers, Analysts and/or Portfolio Strategists attend and actively participate in client meetings to review performance as well as to provide perspective on our investment outlook and strategy. Meeting frequency is adjusted on an individualized basis to meet specific client preference.

During the good markets clients are understandably happy and it is during these times when relationships may not need the same type of attention that they do during challenging times. It is during these down market periods when a firm’s client relationship management teams earn their stripes. Our key to success is simple. Nobody likes bad news, but it is a part of life in this business.
