We are, after all is said and done, an investment firm. In the past decade we have seen our industry evolve from product development to product proliferation. Chasing alpha is a topic seemingly covered at every industry conference. Here's an insight into some of what we've learned from our clients that has had a direct impact on how we do what we do. We are in the business of solving client problems. Our clients have investment needs which may or may not be currently addressed by TBCAM (or any other firm). We listen and we think. If a strategy doesn't exist, we develop a new strategy and our clients grow with us. We've learned that our clients want to work with a learning organization. Research insights come from new challenges. Adding a new strategy is one way to create a new challenge. And the knowledge gained in doing so is often transferable to other strategies. New strategies are good for our employees. We hire bright, creative, talented, and curious men and women who like being challenged and stretched. When our inquisitive and entrepreneurial culture interacts with a client interested in exploring new territories, we are at our best. Solving client problems is what we think investing is all about.
